34 weeks....already?!?!?

Holy moly, where has the time gone? I can't believe that I am within 6 weeks, of my due date, already. There is still so much stuff left to do, hopefully I will get it all done in time...

Little man is growing like a weed. This week he is up to a whopping 4.75 pounds, think average cantaloupe, and at least 18 inches long. No wonder my belly feels heavy most days. He still is packing on the fat layers, which will help him one he enters the world. Even though, since the weather has been so nice lately, he might not need as much help as one would think.  We are now at the safe area in regards to delivery. Even though I'm not full term for another 3 weeks, most babies that are born from here on out, have little health issues, and usually get to come home within a few days. So that is a relief, even though I have told him he needs to wait until April, before he decides to come on. I have noticed this week, that he has dropped quit a bit, my belly is lower, and I've been having pressure lower in my belly these past couple weeks. So things seem to be progressing nicely, which is always good. I still feel great, and am sleeping through the night. (Jealous aren't you, yeah I would be too!) I do feel more tired in the evenings, but packing on all this extra weight will do that to someone.

A reminder of what the belly looked like 2 weeks ago...

Here we are this week. See what I mean??

It's crazy to think that here within a matter weeks little man will be on the outside, and in our arms. Oh how our world is going to change!

32 weeks...8 weeks to go

Well, roughly. It just all depends on when little man decides to make his entrance into the world. Whoa!! Mike seems to think that he will make his entrance a few weeks early, so we will see.

Things have been pretty quite these past few weeks. As it turns out my nesting has kicked in, since I spent most of last weekend getting the much needed touch up painting done.  I've also been working on washing up all of little man's things. I started doing his laundry on Sunday, and I am still working on it. Now mind you I am washing everything, bedding and all, so it's taking a little time. It will be so nice to get everything washed and put away, just waiting for his arrival. Nothing like extreme nesting two months before you are due. I still have to decorate the nursery, so that will be on the list of things to do here very soon.  I'm on the two week schedule for my baby appointments, so I will have one later this week. I'm sure it will be nothing but good news, since all of my appointments have been that.

The belly doesn't look that big now does it??

Ok, who am I kidding? The belly is pretty big.

As you can see my belly is ever changing. It's hard to believe that we already are at this point. Where has the time gone?? My belly button is starting to flatten out, and looks like it wants to be an outtie, instead of an innie. The funny thing is that where I had my belly button pierced, that little section is already sticking out. They say when it pops out, it's like the turkey timer, and things are done.

In regards to little man this week, he is about 16.7 inches long and weighs in about 3.75 lbs. He's starting to pack on the pounds, which means momma is starting to pack on the pounds, roughly 1 pound a week, half of which will go straight to my belly. He is still very active, and each day he reminds me of how much he is growing and how big and strong he is getting.

Baby shower time!!

Last weekend Mike and I went up to my folks house for a visit. Since this would be the last time we were up there before the baby gets here, my aunt decided to throw a shower for me and little man. It was a small little get together, but it was still a great time. It was so nice to catch up with old family friends, and see faces I haven't seen in awhile.

The wonderful spread put on by Grandma

As you can see we made out like bandits!!

Fun for all ages while playing silly shower games.

I was truly blessed to have such wonderful people there to help me celebrate our new addition. Everyone was so kind and generous with their thoughtful gifts, which will all be put to good use.

30 weeks down, 10 to go..

Here we are at week 30 already. Not much has been going on right now. The weather has been crazy stupid, we were in the high 50's, which is very odd for this time of year. Not that I'm complaining,  but I'm sure it will bite us at some point this summer. We have been able to spend some time with Grammy, since she has been in town to help with the newest addition to the family. I have a doctor's appointment this Thursday, so we will see what she has to say about both of us.

I have been feeling pretty good still, still sleeping well at night. I feel like I'm getting bigger by the day, but it's all part of is, and is well worth it. Even though I'm growing by the day, I still feel like I'm getting around pretty good. I haven't hit the uncomfortable stage yet, and for that I am grateful.   As for little man, as of this week he is roughly 15.7 inches long and weighs in about 3 pounds, about a head of cabbage. His eyes are still developing, and his eye sight still isn't the greatest, it's roughly 20/400. Which is pretty poor, since the average adult human is 20/20, so he can only see inches from his face.

Like the hat?? It's fresh from the Daytona Speedway. Mike thought it would look good with what I had on, and decided to only take these pictures if I put the hat on.

My belly is getting so big, and I still have roughly 10 weeks left!!

From the looks of things, he's growing like a weed!!

It looks like grown ups live here.....finally

Well, about 3 weeks ago, Mike and I ordered some new furniture for the house. The sad thing was that after we did all that, we realized that the only furniture that we have actually bought was the mattress and foundations for our bed, one of the filing cabinets, the TV stand, and DVD/Blu Ray racks. Everything else has been given to us, or moved with us in the years past. Not that we weren't thankful for all of that, but it truly was time to purchase some new furniture. So this past Saturday, we had our furniture delivered and put together.

This is what our family room furniture used to look like. Now this is what it looks like with the new furniture....

Daddy's new chair and ottoman

The nice thing about the couch is that when you sit on it, you don't sink to the middle of the couch. You can actually sit on one side or the other, and even the middle and feel like you are falling in a hole!! It makes things much easier when your 7 months pregnant.

We also decided that we would order ourselves a bed room suit, since we didn't have much of anything in our room. Things looked so hodge podged, that I'm not even going to post the before pictures, just what it looks like now.

We are having a bit of a decision to ma ke about the bed. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the base of the frame is higher than the other frame that we had before. So when we put the foundations in it raised the mattress up to above my waist. I literally have to step on the rail to get into bed. We have left it as it for the past couple of nights, but I don't think Mike is totally sold on it. One thing we will have to do is to get taller night stands if we keep things things this way. I personally kind of like having the bed up higher. It just seems to go, the headboard is very tall, and so is the dresser that is in our room. I think it might look funny if we don't have the foundations in the frame.

We also ordered this dresser for little man's room. Mike is going to build a rail to put around the top of it, so it can double as a changing table for awhile. Now that we have all his furniture, we can rearrange everything to make how we want it. Then the fun part will begin....decorating his room!! We better get things rolling, since time keeps on ticking by.

Now that we have all this new furniture, it looks like it's grown up furniture, instead of little kid furniture. That's the running joke around here at least...

No particular reason

Earlier last week, Mike was doing some internet surfing, and looking for something in particular. When I asked what he was looking for, he told me nothing, and that I didn't need to know. So after much prodding, I discovered that he was looking for something for me. Once he ordered it, he was all excited and happy, and told me that he had  ordered me a present.  So the week by and Mike became frustrated with whom he had ordered my present from. Turns out the day before my present was expected to arrive, there hadn't been any charges to our card, or any communication to Mike about shipping. So he decided that he was just going to cancel the order and find something else. So this weekend we went shopping. Here is what we found....

He did pretty good didn't he?? He told me as we were looking at different necklaces that there wasn't any particular reason. It wasn't for Valentine's day, or for anything else. The only reason that he wanted to get this for me was because I deserve it, or at least that is what he said.

If you look closely at the necklace, it has what is called a floating diamond in the center. It's really cool, the way they the set the diamond in it, so it literally looks like it's floating. Mike calls it my spinner. He says that if you look at it long enough, it looks like it spins, since it's constantly moving with my breathing. I'm so spoiled..

28 weeks....whoa...

It's hard to believe that I am already at 28 weeks, which is the start of my third trimester. This entire pregnancy has just FLOWN by. I have been very blessed and lucky throughout it all, and for that I am very thankful.  I had a doctor's appointment this past Friday, and all seems to be going well. My blood pressure was well within the limits that it needs to be in, my weight gain is just that weight gain. =) Little man's heart rate was a little lower than it has been, but they weren't to concerned, and I had to have my glucose test this appointment, so I hadn't ate much of anything before my appointment, so everyone just thought that he was hungry, which would make sense, since I was hungry.

As for as little man's development, this week he will roughly two and a quarter pounds, and is roughly 14.8 inches from head to heels, like a Chinese cabbage. He can now blink his eyes, and his eyelashes are developed. As his eye sight keeps developing, he might be able to see the light that filters through the womb.

I'm to the point that I can't bend over at the waist with out it being painful. I guess the basketball is just getting too big. It makes trying to tie my shoes quite an interesting task.  Thank goodness that it's winter, and I'm always wearing long pants, so I can just wear my boots. =)

The nice thing is that my weight gain is pretty much right on track, and has pretty much stuck to my belly. If I've got to put on a fair amount of weight, keeping it in my belly region will hopefully make it that much easier to loose.  I can only hope that the third trimester will be as easy as the rest of the pregnancy has been.
