Baby shower time!!

Last weekend Mike and I went up to my folks house for a visit. Since this would be the last time we were up there before the baby gets here, my aunt decided to throw a shower for me and little man. It was a small little get together, but it was still a great time. It was so nice to catch up with old family friends, and see faces I haven't seen in awhile.

The wonderful spread put on by Grandma

As you can see we made out like bandits!!

Fun for all ages while playing silly shower games.

I was truly blessed to have such wonderful people there to help me celebrate our new addition. Everyone was so kind and generous with their thoughtful gifts, which will all be put to good use.

Happy New Years!!

Happy New Year to everyone!! Hope everyone had a safe and happy new year. Ours was pretty quite. We hung out with Grandpa Frank and Grandma Jan on New Year's Eve for dinner and a movie, and we were over at their house on New Year's Day for soup, munchies, football, and hang out time. So needless to say, things were pretty relaxing, which was very nice. Today we ran a few errands and registered for baby stuff. Talk about exciting times!! One step closer to him getting here. ( I know I said earlier that I couldn't mention his gender, but we found out at Christmas, that the secret is out, so everyone knows that it's a boy!!)

I did manage to get the Christmas decorations taken down this weekend, so the house is back to normal. Now that we are through the holidays, it's time to focus on getting the last little bit of house remolding done, so that it's ready for the little one.

We have managed to find some deals on clothes for the little guy. He does have a few outfits now, see what you think.

These onesies were on sale, and I thought that they were too cute. One says handsome, my daddy rocks, and mommy rocks.  How cute!

Mike found this outfit, and he was pretty proud of himself for it. I think it's my favorite one, for now.

You have to have some pants to complete the outfit. Gray and camo, pretty much go with anything.

We found these today at TSC, Tractor Supply Company. Too cute! The John Deere is for his uncle, Tyler, and daddy had to have the camo. Does any body see a pattern here??

These were Christmas presents from grandpa Frank and grandma Jan. Now, even though we aren't true fans of UK, our little guy is a Kentucky boy, and if he wants to support UK, then who are we to judge? Besides, I'm sure that he will have several different college outfits before too long. =)

Happy Birthday Mama Rose!!

Last weekend Mike and I decided to make a trip to Fort Wayne to see my mom for her birthday. The kicker is that she didn't know that we were coming. So it was a surprise weekend filled with family time and lots of laughs.

One of my mom's favorite games to play when every one is home us UNO. More times than not, things can get a little personal while playing up here. Even still, we still had to break for cake and ice cream, yet another surprise for mom.

Mike wanted to help get the cake ready for mom...

Here is his handy work....at least it made everyone laugh a little.

Happy birthday mom!! We enjoyed spending your special day with you, and we look forward to spending many more with you!!

Happy Birthday Melissa

Today we were able to celebrate my sis in law's birthday, with her family and friends. I always love a time to get together and eat, so what better time than a birthday.

This is the usual group of suspects. We always seem to get along great, and have a wonderful time when we are together, so why change a good thing?

Michael was in charge of the grill....the rest of us brought in a side item to go with the burgers and brats that he cooked. There is something about the nicer weather that makes those burgers and brats taste that much better.

The yummy spread that we all put together and thoroughly enjoyed this lovely afternoon.

The birthday girl herself, with her homemade strawberry cake that was oh so yummy. Don't ask what went into the frosting, but let me tell you man it was yum-o!

Of course Katelyn had to help mommy blow out the candles on her cake....she is such a big helper.

We sure do love birthdays around here.....it's always a great time!!
