Play time!!

With the weather being cooler, we have been staying inside alot and playing with all the cool toys that we have gotten. 

Charlie is really pretty good at sitting up on his own now. I still put pillows behind him just in case. Sometimes when he does topple over, he will turn himself over on to his tummy and look around, like now what?? The other night in the bath tub, he leaned over and scooted his butt out from underneath him and was laying on his tummy, half out of the tub. To funny!!

His front two bottom teeth have punched all the way through, and sometimes when he smiles you can see them. I guess all the prying in his mouth before hand, has him concerned and he's not quite ready to show them off yet. But when you do catch them, they make his cute little smile even cuter.

We decided to start feeding Charlie some solid foods. Last night was the first go at it, and well, let just say that it was a new experience for all of us. Charlie wasn't too sure about what we were trying to put in his mouth. 

Tonight was a better time....still not real sure about eating, but tonight was a little better.

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween everyone!! We started to dress in halloween themed clothes earlier this week. Charlie had a couple of sweatshirts that were just for this time, so I thought why not start early?

Originally we weren't going to get Charlie a costume, since he is so young, and we weren't going anywhere. However they were having a 'harvest party' at daycare today, and were encouraging all the kids the dress up in costume. We couldn't let Charlie be the only kid in his class that didn't have a costume. So Mike went out and bought Charlie his first costume. Here is what he came up with...

Such a cute little lion, don't you think?? Charlie had fun today as a lion. We did get to show him off two a few people, and they all agreed that he makes a pretty cute lion. I know he won't remember it, but his momma will, and I've got pictures to prove it!!

Brrrrr!!!

This past weekend, was the first weekend that it was really starting to feeling like fall weather, so we didn't go anywhere. The cooler weather along with the fact that Charlie didn't feel so well, due to those front two teeth coming in made it a great time just to hang out around the house.

He's just about mastered sitting up by himself. When I switched out all the summer clothes for the fall/winter ones, I found these new toys that were given to us long before he was born. So what better time to play with them then the present?? 

I swear this kid dresses better than I do!! Here he was the morning, all ready to head to daycare in his 'new' wardrobe. He looks like such a little man in theses clothes. Love it! Whoever thought that little boys didn't have cute clothes to wear, I'm not sure what they were thinking. I know Charlie has some really cute outfits, and now that he's getting bigger, we are able to dress him in more than just oneies and pants!

Such a happy boy!!

Fall time is here!!

The fall weather is definitely upon us! So what better way to celebrate the changing of the leaves and season than to hang out at one of the local orchards with all the pumpkins!!

It was very windy when we were there, so it was hard to find a shot that Charlie had his eyes open.

I put this white pumpkin close to Charlie, so that in case he started to lean, he wouldn't fall down. It's a good thing I did, it worked perfectly!

We had a great time, even though it was very windy out, and we look forward to spending many more fall days out there!

So Handsome...

I thought I would put a few newer pictures up, since Charlie is becoming such a handsome little boy. 

We've had some cooler weather, so Charlie's wardrobe has gotten bigger. There just is something about a boy in John Deere....

I was trying to get Charlie to sit up in the glider, but he ended up leaning to the side. He looks like he's posing oh so perfectly for this picture. What a ham!

We had found our toes!! He is constantly grabbing for them, and loves to play with them. He has also started to play with his tongue. He makes the silliest faces with his tongue now.

When you wake up to a face like this every morning, how can you have a bad day?? I just love him so much and he always makes me smile.

Charlie is 4 months old!!

Can you believe it?? Yes, yes it is true Charlie is officially 4 months old. Crazy how time flies. It just seems like the other day I was in the recovery room with him laying on my chest, saying hello for the first time. Sigh...

We had his 4 month old well baby check up last week, and not to anybody's surprise, Charlie was changing very rapidly. He weighed in at 16.7 pounds and 27.25 inches long. His head had grown another inch since last visit as well. So once again our boy was 99th for his head circumference, and 97th for his height. This time he was in the 75th percentile for his weight, but our doctor wasn't concerned. He seemed to think that Charlie has 'evened' out a bit in his weight gain.

This past week was a different week for us. I was let go from my new job last Saturday, so until I found a new job I was staying at home with Charlie. The extra time was nice with him, and I soaked up every minute of it. 

We spent alot of time on the floor on our tummy. I realized that Charlie spends a great deal of time in his jumper or his swing, and not so much on his tummy. When you hold him he acts like he wants to be crawling so bad, I figured we need to spend some time on the floor, so he can figure it all out.

Sometimes its hard after your bath when all you want is to be all wrapped up, but your towel doesn't want to corporate. I mean who wants your eyes to be covered, and your toes exposed??? 

Such a big boy! He's almost able to sit up by himself. When he does, he has to lean forward to keep his balance, so I figured a little help from the boppy would be a good thing. Not to mention that he just looked so cute in his overalls. The cooler weather we've been having has allowed me to get out the hoodies and outfits like this one. Charlie looks so cute in his fall clothes.

This past week was a blessing, and now that I'm back at work, I treasure these little moments like I had with him the other morning.
