No particular reason

Earlier last week, Mike was doing some internet surfing, and looking for something in particular. When I asked what he was looking for, he told me nothing, and that I didn't need to know. So after much prodding, I discovered that he was looking for something for me. Once he ordered it, he was all excited and happy, and told me that he had  ordered me a present.  So the week by and Mike became frustrated with whom he had ordered my present from. Turns out the day before my present was expected to arrive, there hadn't been any charges to our card, or any communication to Mike about shipping. So he decided that he was just going to cancel the order and find something else. So this weekend we went shopping. Here is what we found....

He did pretty good didn't he?? He told me as we were looking at different necklaces that there wasn't any particular reason. It wasn't for Valentine's day, or for anything else. The only reason that he wanted to get this for me was because I deserve it, or at least that is what he said.

If you look closely at the necklace, it has what is called a floating diamond in the center. It's really cool, the way they the set the diamond in it, so it literally looks like it's floating. Mike calls it my spinner. He says that if you look at it long enough, it looks like it spins, since it's constantly moving with my breathing. I'm so spoiled..

28 weeks....whoa...

It's hard to believe that I am already at 28 weeks, which is the start of my third trimester. This entire pregnancy has just FLOWN by. I have been very blessed and lucky throughout it all, and for that I am very thankful.  I had a doctor's appointment this past Friday, and all seems to be going well. My blood pressure was well within the limits that it needs to be in, my weight gain is just that weight gain. =) Little man's heart rate was a little lower than it has been, but they weren't to concerned, and I had to have my glucose test this appointment, so I hadn't ate much of anything before my appointment, so everyone just thought that he was hungry, which would make sense, since I was hungry.

As for as little man's development, this week he will roughly two and a quarter pounds, and is roughly 14.8 inches from head to heels, like a Chinese cabbage. He can now blink his eyes, and his eyelashes are developed. As his eye sight keeps developing, he might be able to see the light that filters through the womb.

I'm to the point that I can't bend over at the waist with out it being painful. I guess the basketball is just getting too big. It makes trying to tie my shoes quite an interesting task.  Thank goodness that it's winter, and I'm always wearing long pants, so I can just wear my boots. =)

The nice thing is that my weight gain is pretty much right on track, and has pretty much stuck to my belly. If I've got to put on a fair amount of weight, keeping it in my belly region will hopefully make it that much easier to loose.  I can only hope that the third trimester will be as easy as the rest of the pregnancy has been.

We have a nursery...well almost

A couple of weeks ago, Mike and I went out shopping, trying to figure out what crib we were going to buy, and we ended up finding a really nice crib, glider rocker and ottoman. To make things even better, they all were on sale!! Got to love a good sale!! The only thing was that we had to order all the pieces, since they didn't have the color in stock. Well last week, we picked up the furniture so it's been sitting in the box for a week.  This afternoon 'Grandpa' Frank and Mike decided to put it together. Which was fine with me, since I don't really care to put furniture together. Besides it was funny to watch the boys put things together, while kind of using the instructions that came with the furniture.

Here they are!! Right now, they are just put together. We are still waiting on the dresser to arrive before we get the room arranged the way it will be. It's just nice to have them out of the boxes and start to see how we want to put the room together.

I've got all the sheets downstairs in the basement, and for now they will stay there until we get a bit closer. So until then, the crib makes a great storage bin. Who says you can't multitask with everything??

Here is the glider and ottoman. Even though it's a solid color, I love the fact that it's a darker color, and the wood is a pretty good match to the crib. Another plus is that it is a little wider than most gliders. That way there is plenty of room for us to sit and rock little man. I love the cushions around the armrests. Most of the gliders I looked at had wooden armrests.  I know it's the simple things, but what can I say??

It's not complete, but it's a pretty good start. It's exciting to finally have some things in the nursery, so that it looks like a nursery.

26 weeks....less than 100 days to go!!II

It's hard to believe that I have roughly less than 100 days left in this pregnancy. YIKES!!! There is so much that still needs to be done, before little guy gets here. These past two weeks have been pretty standard. I'm still feeling pretty good, and still sleeping well. Pretty much through the night, without interruption. (Thank you Jesus!!) Everyone keeps telling me that it's short lived, so I am enjoying it while it lasts. The only issue this week, is that I have seemed to have picked up a cough within the last week. I finally broke down and went to the doctor, and got some medicine, so hopefully it will be gone shortly.  Little man makes his presence known daily. He's VERY active these days, and if there was any doubt that I was pregnant, he constantly reminds me.

Somethings just keep on growing.....

6 months or 24 weeks, its all the same..

Well, here we are....24 weeks along. It's hard to believe that we are that far along already. I have decided that I will post pictures every 2 weeks, instead of every week, so that everyone can see the changes a little more easier.  I went to the doctor this past Thursday, and everything checked out like it should. His heart rate was about 150 bpm, which is pretty standard for this little guy. My blood pressure checked out good, and my weight gain is right where it should be. Not that it's where I want to be, but it's all part of it, and I'm hoping that I will be able to get rid of it without too much trouble. So it was a very good appointment, which is always nice. I am still feeling well, sleeping pretty good. As the weeks go by, the hours I keep are starting to wear on me. I am noticing that I am tired when I didn't used to be. As Mike so lovelingly reminds me, it's because I'm very pregnant. But all in all, things are still going well. On an exciting note, we did buy the first little bit of furniture for the nursery. Very exciting stuff. Once it's arrives, and it put together, I will post pictures of everything. =)

No wonder I'm feeling so tired, it's kind of scary when you see a picture of yourself, and only them you realize how big you are getting.

On the shopping front, we have decided that we aren't going to buy any more clothes for little man until after we have our showers. But while walking through TSC last night, we found something that we just couldn't pass up.

Too stinkin cute right?? I thought that his uncle Tyler would be happy to see his nephew with a few John Deere bibs. A long the lines of clothes, we got a few hand me downs from a friend this weekend, and we are very grateful for those. I'm sure our little guy will look so cute in those and any new clothes he gets.

Once again Mike was playing with the camera, and Sidney was happy to pose for a photo shoot. I couldn't help but notice how much she looks like my old dog, Missy, in this picture. Such a pretty girl.

Week 22...

Welcome to week 22!! Sorry that I missed week 21, but well, I really don't have much of a reason except that I just didn't get around to it.  So here is your week 22 update... not much new, things are just expanding like they should be. According to my weekly updates our little guy is roughly 11 inches long, think spaghetti squash, and almost weighs a pound. Now when we had our last appointment, they said he was 11 ounces in weight, so I'm guessing that he's a bit more than a pound by now. His lips, eyelids and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he is developing tooth buds under his gums.(lovely..) His eyes are formed, but his irises still lack pigment. Here are this weeks lovely pictures of how everything is changing this week...

I took today off, and one of the things that I really wanted to get done was to give the girls a bath. It had been a few months, and they were both needing one so that was the main thing I wanted to get done today. Here is Sidney after her bath. It never fails, after every bath, she turns into a curly little fuzz ball. It's the funniest thing.

Happy New Years!!

Happy New Year to everyone!! Hope everyone had a safe and happy new year. Ours was pretty quite. We hung out with Grandpa Frank and Grandma Jan on New Year's Eve for dinner and a movie, and we were over at their house on New Year's Day for soup, munchies, football, and hang out time. So needless to say, things were pretty relaxing, which was very nice. Today we ran a few errands and registered for baby stuff. Talk about exciting times!! One step closer to him getting here. ( I know I said earlier that I couldn't mention his gender, but we found out at Christmas, that the secret is out, so everyone knows that it's a boy!!)

I did manage to get the Christmas decorations taken down this weekend, so the house is back to normal. Now that we are through the holidays, it's time to focus on getting the last little bit of house remolding done, so that it's ready for the little one.

We have managed to find some deals on clothes for the little guy. He does have a few outfits now, see what you think.

These onesies were on sale, and I thought that they were too cute. One says handsome, my daddy rocks, and mommy rocks.  How cute!

Mike found this outfit, and he was pretty proud of himself for it. I think it's my favorite one, for now.

You have to have some pants to complete the outfit. Gray and camo, pretty much go with anything.

We found these today at TSC, Tractor Supply Company. Too cute! The John Deere is for his uncle, Tyler, and daddy had to have the camo. Does any body see a pattern here??

These were Christmas presents from grandpa Frank and grandma Jan. Now, even though we aren't true fans of UK, our little guy is a Kentucky boy, and if he wants to support UK, then who are we to judge? Besides, I'm sure that he will have several different college outfits before too long. =)
